The University of California at Los Angeles opened its new campus in 1929 with four buildings The Janss steps were the original 37 steps up the the Quad which was Royce Hall, Haines Hall, Powell Library, and Kinsey Hall. Royce Hall was inspired by the Basillica of Sant’Ambrogo in the Lambard Romanesque Revival Style.
The buildings depicted in the drawing of UCLA are Royce Hall, Janss steps, Powell Library, Kerkhoff Hall. The Powell Library is sometimes referred to as “Club Powell” because of all the activities there.
Students have fond memories of their time on campus making this a great gift for recent graduates, supportive past alumni and fans of all ages. Let the memories begin!
