Over the years, Indiana University has become a major research institution and has developed a strong collegiate athletic program. With no mascot, Indiana University athletic teams are know as Hoosiers.

The buildings depicted are Sample Gates, Student Building, Rose Well House, Maxwell House, Memorial Hall, and Lych Gate. Built with Indiana Limestone, Sample Gates serves as an entrance to the oldest parts of the campus. The Rose Well House legend states that an Indiana University woman is not a co-ed until she has been kissed here at midnight.
