Virginia Tech officially opened in 1872. It was born as a land-grant college, and appropriately, its distinctive buildings are constructed from limestone mined at the quarry on the fringes of Blacksburg. It is affectionately called “Hokie Stone.”
The buildings depicted are Burrus Hall, The War Memorial, and the Newman Library. Burrus Hall, built in 1936, is the main administration building and the University’s signature building. The War Memorial Court consists of eight pylons that represent Brotherhood, Honor, Leadership, Sacrifice, Service, Loyalty, Duty, and the University motto “That I May Serve.” The lower level contains a 260 seat chapel.

Your school’s artwork was created by hand using pen, ink, and watercolor. The paper is hand cut and layered to give the work a creative three-dimensional appeal. The image is 3.5” x 12.5” and is framed with a maroon/orange mat in a 9” x 18” quality, black metal frame.
