UNC Wilmington opened its doors in 1947. At that time the school was a junior college. Wilmington became a four year college in 1963. The University’s highly ranked Marine Science program draws students from around the US. Its close proximity to the Atlantic Ocean is a definite student draw. The school is proud of its official color, teal, wearing shirts with the slogan “Feel My Teal.”
The buildings depicted in the Seahawks artwork are Morton Hall, the Clock Tower, Alderman Hall, Hoggard Hall, and James Hall. Morton Hall is named in honor of Margaret Shannon Morton, one of the original full-time faculty members of Wilmington College. The Clock Tower is on the Campus Commons. Alderman Hall, Hoggard Hall, and James Hall were the three original buildings on campus.
UNCW students take great pride in their school while building lasting memories. That makes this a unique gift for recent graduates, past alumni, and fans of all ages. Relive the memories!
Your school’s artwork was created by hand using pen, ink, and watercolor. The paper is hand cut and layered to give the work a creative three-dimensional appeal. The image is 3.5” x 12.5” and is framed with a teal/gold mat in a 9” x 18” quality, black metal frame.
