Georgia Southern University

Georgia Southern University began in 1908 with four faculty members and 15 students. Now there are over 20,000 enrolled in the Eagle Nation. Cheer on Georgia…Southern!

Some universities have “squares,” Georgia Southern, however, has Sweetheart Circle. Students used to call the area “Sweetheart Campus” for the rolling lawn of live oaks and pecan trees. It is said that if you walk around the circle three times with your sweetheart, you are sure to get married.
